(워싱턴=연합뉴스) 강영두 특파원 = 미군의 전투기 조종사가 초고속 미확인 비행 물체(UFO)를 발견하고 깜짝 놀라는 음성이 담긴 영상이 공개돼 화제다.

 

14일(현지시간) 미 ABC방송 등에 따르면 화제의 영상은 미국의 민간과학연구소인 '투 더 스타즈 아카데미'(TTSA)가 미 국방부에 정보공개를 청구해 입수한 것이다.

 

2분 분량인 이 영상은 미 해군 전투기 FA-18 호넷이 2015년 미 동부 해안에서 빠른 속도로 이동하는 UFO를 발견하고, 추적해 촬영한 것이라고 TTSA는 설명했다.

 

영상에는 "맙소사, 대체 저게 뭐냐? 저 비행 물체를 봐"라는 전투기 조종사의 육성도 담겨 있다.

 

항공전문가인 데이비드 수시는 CNN방송 인터뷰에서 "고속으로 비행하는 데도 열이 발생하지 않는다는 것에 놀랐다"고 말했다.

 

미 국방부가 2007~2012년 운영한 '우주항공 고등 위협 식별 프로그램' 책임자였던 루이스 엘리존도는 "이 비행 물체가 러시아나 중국에서 만든 것인지, 아니면 화성에서 온 것인지 누구도 모른다"면서 UFO 연구 필요성을 주장했다.
